"Feed me 'til I want no more". What does that mean a place where Infant mortality is among the world's highest and there is never enough food? Of course it refers not to physical bread, but the "Bread of Heaven" that offers to join friends and enemies alike in holy communion. My childhood was connected to the Welsh valleys. The pit heads are gone, but sometimes the rain opens a black ("bible black and starless") rivulet scar in the grass camouflaged slag heaps. Painful histories are not buried very deeply.
